home on the go.
Sitting in an airport is an exciting yet anxious place to wrap my mind around the vastness of this world. Especially for a homebody like me. Hundreds of thousands of people working, traveling, going, flying. I can feel my heart tighten as “wander in a strange land” becomes my reality with home and those I love fading further and further away.
But a little message from heaven struck my mind just now.
“You are taking Home and Me with you.”
As a temple-endowed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I always wear my temple garments. They remind me of my covenant bond with Jesus Christ; that I am yoked to Him and He to me. That we pull together and His strength is now my strength. And that I get to take a piece of Home with me wherever I fly. So no matter how far away my hometown, family, or bed is, I walk on the holy ground of Home wherever I go, as I keep my covenant promises to Jesus Christ.
Today, I am so grateful for that physical reminder that I am bound to Christ, and he goes before, behind, beside, and ahead of me at all times. And in all places.
