love note #1: you are the one for the job.
In the empty spaces of a true summer week off (hallelujah chorus!), a steady trickle of dreams and ideas keeps anointing my mind. Yes, anointing. Overly dramatic? Possibly. But I believe in the influence of God’s voice; in having daily experiences with divinity. And they slip by so nonchalant at times you wonder if it was heaven or you own thoughts. But when the smallest drops start to collect into a pool of excitement and peace that cascade into more ideas that feed yet another pool downstream….I know when to pause and acknowledge His goodness.
So, as a future note to all of us in the waiting, wondering, not-quite-sure-but-still-wanting-to-dream-big, holding area: you are the one for the job. Those little droplets of ideas, the things that get you happy and excited about having air still pumping through your lungs. You are the one to do them. What we receive from the Lord, we receive with the promise of partnership. Collaboration. Coalescing with Him on how to achieve our highest selves along the path we have conceived together. Dreams require heaven’s optimism (a little word I love called, “hope”) and no amount of optimism will make you naive, childish, or immature. Don’t listen to the naysayers (especially the one living in your head). Follow the One who has descended below all things, so that He can look us in the eye with full sincerity of heart and say, “Fear not…I have overcome all...Come, follow me.”
